Photographing Model Ana Maria Georgia
Shoot 4 - Ana Maria Georgia - #projectvampirique
This project just keeps marching on and getting bigger and better as the momentum and interest builds.
Shoot 4 follows Shoot 3 of course which was with Han Rose.
Ana made the journey to the studio specially for the shoot which was kind of her indeed and testament to her enthusiasm to create such meaningful work. It was the second time I have photographed Ana - the first being October of 2024 as I document here, where she once again helped me create some dark and mystical work.
We did a series of looks for the shoot. The first was some natural window light work with Ana wearing a traditionally Victorian'esque vampire like dress, and she sported some jewellery kindly loaned to me by creator Heather Shaw. Ana, being the creative soul that she is, took to wearing the necklace on her head though! It worked insanely well and the shots came out banging! She also used an amazing black wig that was really long and worked perfectly.
We then switched to some top light lantern lit work, followed by some high contrast Fresnel lighting. Some very powerful and dramatic shots came from that. Then we did some more with reflective umbrella lit shots for some more neutral shots.
Look 3 saw a change of outfit and some different accessories again and took us to the staircase for a bit of mixed lighting work and Ana was climbing up the walls, literally, and hanging off the banister. I quickly drafted some health and safety caveats in my mind as we worked and hoped for the best! (I joke of course). We then ventured
Look 4 saw a change of wig, and a change of outfit. Although it was an Ann Summers piece, and not something I'd usually entertain for my work, Ana once again wore it creatively over the black dress, so it simply added some drama and detail to an otherwise softer look. It worked perfectly.
I really enjoyed our shoot again, as I knew I would. The images were top notch - every roll (all 11 of them) came out with some utter keepers and wall hanging standard shots. It will be hard to choose just a few for the finished project, which now has its own hash tag on Instagram - #projectvampirique.
