Photographing Model Han Rose for Project Vampirique - Shoot 3
My vampire inspired creative black and white photography project around the sinister beauty of Vampires continues....this time with UK model Han Rose.
When I called for models to take part in this project in early 2025, Han was someone who I had noticed from her social media posts as someone whose aesthetic would suit the theme. Following an ask to take part, she seemed happy to agree.
I was delighted to read her messages of enthusiasm prior to the shoot. She really embraced the idea, reached out to other creatives such as videographers and make up artists and even other models to help me get the most from our shoot and for me to get the most from the project.
The Han shoot was Shoot 3 of the project in June 2025, conducted once again at The Boardroom Studio in Derby. She arrived in high spirits and totally brought her 'A Game' to the shoot. Some great outfits and styling and she really got into the acting of looking somewhat mysterious and slightly sinister - in a good creative way of course! Having now met her and worked with her I can entirely say for sure she is a million miles away from sinister. She also sported jewellery by UK jewelery maker Heather Guilmartin Shaw as seen on Instagram as 'revivify_2018'. Heather was kind enough to dispatch some her items to me for the project - a kind gesture and not one that I will forget.
We shot Kodak TMAX 400 from Kodak Alaris again using my trusted and beastly Hasselblad camera of course. I used a combination of lighting, from softbox, to reflective umbrella, to LED lantern and of course my signature look Fresnel. I developed all the film myself and digitised it using my tried and tested method. A unique recipe of development that enables me to create this signature look.
The shoot enabled me to get some great shots for my project, as well as a handful of more traditional beauty like shots for Han herself to use as she wished.
It was a great shoot and I was happy to have Han part of my project. Several of her shots will adorn the final pages of whatever the finished project looks like. Below are a few of my favourites.
